Winterizing

Protect your Investment

In the winter months temperature can fall well below freezing, if water is left inside your engine or gear case, cracked engine  blocks or housings can occur. if this happens, the repair bills can runs into the thousands. We can help prevent this unfortunate circumstance by properly winterizing your boat before the cold season begins.

Our Winterizing Services

Change coolant — fresh-water cooled engines only

Coolant loses its anticorrosion properties over time. Replacing it every year with a fresh 50-50 mix protects the inside of your engine.

Change oil in engine and transmission

Once the engine is warmed up and the oil is  hot and contaminants are in suspension, the oils and filters can be changed.

Top-off fuel tanks and add biocide — diesel engines only

The fuel tanks are kept full to inhibit condensation, which can be a serious problem for diesel engines. Then the fresh fuel is treated with a stabilizer and a biocide to retard bacteria growth.

Gas engines fuel evacuation

The fuel supply is shut off and the engine is ran until it stops.

Changing Oils

Engine and transmission oils are changed to remove oil that could be contaminated with dirt and particles which can cause damage during the winter months

Drain fuel tank and supply lines.

Fuel tanks can be drained if  practical for your boat, or topped  off with fresh fuel to 95% full. Gasoline with ethanol in a half full tank is subject to phase separation if water gets into the fuel, Filling the tank limits the air space inside the tank and reduces the potential for internal condensation.

Protect Your Investment

Raw Water Flushing and Corrosion Protection

Raw water passages can be drained with a mixture of anti left behind to protect the surfaces or an antifreeze solution can be introduced into the system to protect your engine and the heat exchanger on freshwater cooled engines from freezing.

Announce coming events

Having a big sale, on-site celebrity, or other event? Be sure to announce it so everybody knows and gets excited about it.

Foggng The Engines

Stabilizer prevents buildup while your boat sits for long periods, not only in your fuel lines but in your fuel injectors and carburetors as well.

Fogging oil can be sprayed into the air intake or injected into the cylinder directly through spark plug holes or on diesel engines, sprayed into intake manifolds to coat and protect the cylinder walls.

Exhaust Systems Check

Exhaust systems and hoses are inspected for possible corrosion and cracking.
